Following the escalation of border tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Taliban forces have captured several border posts in the provinces of Kunar, Helmand, and Khost, initiating intense clashes along the Durand Line. This action comes in response to recent Pakistani airstrikes on the Afghan provinces of Kabul, Paktika, and Nangarhar.
According to zharfa News Agency, the confrontations began early yesterday (Saturday, 19th of Mizan) and continued until a few hours ago. A video leaked to the media shows both sides utilizing light and heavy weaponry, including artillery and mortars, a clear indication of the high intensity of the battles.
The Taliban Ministry of Defense announced moments ago that the retaliatory operation by Afghan forces against Pakistani military positions was successfully concluded at 12:00 AM local time today.
Enayatullah Khwarazmi, the ministry’s spokesperson, stated that the strikes led to the destruction of Pakistani military installations and resulted in casualties among their forces.
