Pakistan’s Defense Minister: Complete Destruction of Taliban Possible with Minimal Military Might

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated that deploying just a small fraction of his country’s military capability would suffice to completely annihilate the Taliban regime, though Islamabad sees no need for such action.

According to Zharfa News Agency, Asif wrote on his X page on Wednesday, November 7 (Aqrab/Aban), that if the Taliban carry out suicide attacks on Pakistani soil, they will taste the bitter consequences, and testing Pakistan’s military power would lead to the group’s total destruction.

He described Afghanistan as a land usurped by the Taliban, adding that the group seeks to drag Afghans into blind warfare, but Pakistan would not even need to use part of its arsenal to drive the Taliban back to their caves.

In response to the Taliban’s warnings about the “graveyard of empires,” Pakistan’s defense minister stressed that Afghanistan is not the graveyard of empires but the graveyard of its own people.

These sharp remarks come following the failure of talks between the Taliban and Islamabad, mediated by Turkey and Qatar, in Istanbul.
