Pakistan Seeks Dialogue with Kabul After Deadly Clashes

In the wake of deadly clashes between Pakistani forces and the Taliban, resulting in the deaths of dozens of soldiers on both sides, Pakistan has expressed readiness for dialogue with the Taliban.

According to Zharfa News Agency, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry stated that the country is committed to diplomacy and mutually beneficial relations with Afghanistan. The ministry described combating terrorism as a shared goal of both nations.

Taliban sources reported the deaths of 9 of their fighters and claimed 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed. However, the Pakistani army confirmed 23 soldiers killed and 29 others injured.

These clashes, described as the deadliest between the two sides since the Taliban’s return to power, occurred on Saturday this week.
